Malnutrition (see also Anorexia / Poor Appetite)

June 24, 2010

Malnutrition is caused by a number of things:  digestive disorders such as crohn’s disease, anorexia, bulemia, chronic diarrhea, etc.  play a big part in contributing to malnutition. But did you know that atherosclerosis, (aka arteriosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries) is another cause?  The blood vessel walls lose some of their permeability and the nutrients can’t get through to the cells.   Also,  pH imbalances can create malnutrition … if certain vitamins and  minerals are not within a certain range, then other nutrients cannot be absorbed and utilitzed.

Here are some things that may help:  stimulate the appetite by not only taking, but also TASTING bitter herbs such as Digestive Bitters or Golden Seal about 20 minutes before meals.  Other appetite stimulants include drinking a cup of Chamomile tea several minutes before a meal, or taking herbal combinations such as Trigger Immune or Spleen Activator (these last two are also used to overcome wasting and deficiency).

Support for the nervous system is definitely in order, and it may also be necessary to support the heart with HS II, as well as stabilize blood sugar levels.

Following are other products used to correct this disorder:  Alfalfa, All Cell Detox, Anti-Gas (Chinese), Artemisia Combination, Astragalus, Bee Pollen -weight gain, Bergamot, Blessed Thistle, Catnip, Chamomile, Cinnamon Leaf, CLT-X, Digestive Bitters Tonic, Energ-VFood Enzymes,  Geranium, Goldenseal, Grapefruit (Pink), Green Tea Extract, HS II, HY-A, Herbal Trace Minerals, Ionic Minerals, Licorice Root, Nutri-Calm, ProbioticsSpirulina,  Spleen Activator (Chinese), Stress-J, Super Algae, Super Supplemental, SynerProtein,  Thai-Go, THIM-J,  Trigger Immune, VitaWave -nutritional support for

Antibiotics (alternatives to, side effects of)

June 24, 2010

What Are Antibiotics?

The word antibiotic comes from the Greek anti meaning ‘against’ and bios meaning ‘life’.  In the pharmaceutical world, antibiotics are antibacterial agents … and they kill all bacteria in the digestive and female reproductive tracts, good and bad (this is also why antibacterial soaps do more harm than good).   In the plant world, the plants having antibacterial properties are smarter than that … they only kill the bad bacteria.

What Are the Side Effects of Antibiotic Use?

Pharmaceutical antibiotics kill off the good bacteria allowing yeast to grow out of balance with other organisms.  The yeast produces a toxin that weakens the immune system, so it is very important to replenish the good bacteria with probiotics such as Acidophilis, Bifidophilis Flora Force, Probiotic Eleven, and Sunshine Heros Probiotic Power for children (adults can take it too).

What Are Some Natural Alternatives to Antibiotics?

Garlic, Immune Stimulator, Lymphatic Drainage, Olive Leaf Extract, Pantothenic Acid, Oregano Oil, Pau D’Arco, Silver Shield, Silver Shield Gel, Tea Tree Oil, Thieves Oil, Thieves Hand Cleaner, Yeast/Fungal Detox

Anorexia / Poor Appetite (see also Malnutrition)

June 24, 2010

What is Anorexia?

A prolonged lack or loss of appetite that results in the refusal to eat, is also known as anorexia.  This is a psychological disorder with definite physical consequences, which includes a fear of gaining weight.  It is fairly common among teenage girls.  When dealing with this condition, seek appropriate medical attention.

Can Anorexia Be Corrected Naturally?

To help correct this disorder, stimulate the appetite by not only taking, but also TASTING bitter herbs such as Digestive Bitters or Golden Seal about 20 minutes before meals.  Other appetite stimulants include drinking a cup of Chamomile tea several minutes before a meal, or taking herbal combinations such as Trigger Immune or Spleen Activator (these last two are also used to overcome wasting and deficiency).

Angina (Angina Pectoris)

June 24, 2010

A spasmodic, cramp-like pain in the chest, radiating down the left arm, and frequently accompanied by a feeling of suffocation and impending death.  Angina Pectoris is often caused by a lack of oxygen to the heart owing to atherosclerosis, but it can also be caused by anxiety. Gallbladder or digestive problems, including severe abdominal bloating, could also cause chest pain.  Seek appropriate medical attention for a proper diagnosis.

Blood Cell Production (see also Anemia)

June 23, 2010

Blood is the fluid that circulates throughout the circulatory system, carrying nutrients and oxygen to all parts of the body, and carrying away waste products.   The production of healthy blood cells is necessary to keep all body systems functioning properly.  However, sometimes the body becomes deficient in iron, and this causes reduced hemaglobin production, which, in turn, causes a reduction in red blood cell production.   This condition leads to anemia.

Iron can be supplied with Chelated Iron, Alfalfa, I-X, and/or Yellowdock.  Additionallly, Chlorophyll can be very helpful in rebuilding iron-poor blood.

Other helpful supplements are for building the blood:  Astragalus, Barley Juice Powder, Chlorophyl, GreenZoneI-X, Iron,  Pau D’Arco,  Small Intestine Detox, Super Algae,  Target Endurance,  Thai-Go, Ultimate Echinacea,  Vitamin B-12, Vitamin B-6, Vitamin C
