Malnutrition (see also Anorexia / Poor Appetite)

Malnutrition is caused by a number of things: digestive disorders such as crohn’s disease, anorexia, bulemia, chronic diarrhea, etc. play a big part in contributing to malnutition. But did you know that atherosclerosis, (aka arteriosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries) is another cause? The blood vessel walls lose some of their permeability and the nutrients can’t get through to the cells. Also, pH imbalances can create malnutrition … if certain vitamins and minerals are not within a certain range, then other nutrients cannot be absorbed and utilitzed.
Here are some things that may help: stimulate the appetite by not only taking, but also TASTING bitter herbs such as Digestive Bitters or Golden Seal about 20 minutes before meals. Other appetite stimulants include drinking a cup of Chamomile tea several minutes before a meal, or taking herbal combinations such as Trigger Immune or Spleen Activator (these last two are also used to overcome wasting and deficiency).
Support for the nervous system is definitely in order, and it may also be necessary to support the heart with HS II, as well as stabilize blood sugar levels.
